Amy Schroeder offers strategic guidance on issues related to clinical data, clinical practice guidelines, clinical decision support technologies, and drug and pharmacopeial compendia. In recent projects, Amy has analyzed claims data and conducted primary research with physicians and health plans to help life sciences manufacturers understand barriers preventing patients from accessing critical medicines; she has also developed mitigation strategies to surmount those barriers. Amy has also recently researched how providers and health plans use clinical decision support tools to inform patient care plans and clinical pathways and advised life sciences manufacturers on how to improve their product rankings to ensure that patients can access and obtain coverage for their products. Amy began her clinical career in cancer research and subsequently held positions in specialty, home infusion, and outpatient oncology pharmacies as well as leadership roles developing clinical and pharmacopeial drug compendia. She helped to create the initial United States Pharmacopeia Medicare Model Guidelines to guide Part D plans in developing and maintaining their drug formularies, and drafted Level I clinical pathways content for US Oncology. She also provided consultation on the impacts of clinical drug data on payer coverage and reimbursement, subsequently becoming a senior consultant for Lash Group Healthcare Consultants and DK Pierce & Associates, Inc. At Resolution Health, Inc., an analytics subsidiary of Anthem, Inc., she served as the assistant director of clinical pharmacy research and development, assessing the alignment of claims data with evidence-based clinical guidelines and identifying cost-saving opportunities and safety concerns for members. Amy is the only pharmacist who has contributed to the content of three clinical drug compendia recognized by CMS and commercial payers. Amy holds a BS in science/microbiology from the Pennsylvania State University and a BS in pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. She is a licensed pharmacist and has served as a preceptor to pharmacy students at several universities.
