Since joining PAI in 2000, Derek has been responsible for the design and management of scores of clinical and economic evaluations, including trial-based assessments, retrospective database studies, and modeling exercises covering a wide range of therapeutic areas (such as oncology, oncology-related supportive care, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoporosis). Derek is a graduate of Kalamazoo College where he received his B.A. in Economics in 1991. In 1997, he graduated from Wayne State University, where he completed his Ph.D. in Economics with a concentration in Health Economics and Industrial Organization. Prior to joining PAI, he served as Associate Director of Health Economics at Sanofi-Synthelabo, Inc. Derek has presented over 40 studies at national/international medical and economic conferences, and has coauthored numerous peer-reviewed articles published. He also is a reviewer for several medical and health economic journals. Derek enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid golfer.
